Tips for Planning a Journeys Between Regions

If you are planning a rail or coach journey where you don't need details of local travel in the North East and Cumbria region (for example if your destination is outside of the area we cover), but you do want local travel information at your destination, then we recommend using the appropriate journey planner for the region you are travelling to. Regional Journey Planners will have full coverage of rail and coach stations in our region as well as all of their own local/regional information.

If you are planning a journey where you want to use local transport in the North East and Cumbria, then a train or coach, then local transport in another region, the Transport Direct website found at www.transportdirect.info, will be of most use to you. The local public transport information in Transport Direct is supplied by the traveline regions.

The National Rail website allows you to check journeys using the very latest information about any disruption to services, and checks fares and buy tickets. You can also get actual times of current arrivals and departures from rail stations by visiting www.nationalrail.co.uk.
